What we treat

Anxiety and panic treatment

Anxiety becomes worth treating when it stops being an occasional reaction and starts organising your life around avoiding it.

What it can look like

  • Worry that runs constantly and is difficult to switch off
  • Physical symptoms — racing heart, chest tightness, shortness of breath, stomach trouble
  • Panic attacks that arrive suddenly and feel physically alarming
  • Avoiding places, situations or conversations because of how they might feel
  • Trouble falling asleep because your mind will not settle
  • Feeling tense, irritable or on edge most days

You do not need to recognise all of these, and recognising them is not a diagnosis. That is what the evaluation is for.

How we approach it

Anxiety responds well to treatment, but only once it is properly understood. The 60-minute evaluation looks at when the anxiety started, what reliably sets it off, how it shows up physically, and what has already been tried — because panic, generalised worry and anxiety driven by something else are not treated the same way.

Where medication is appropriate, we discuss what it is for, what to expect in the first few weeks, and how long to give it before judging whether it is working. Visits also include supportive therapeutic work rather than being prescription checks.
